Celebration Of International Women’s Day At GDC Sidhra

Celebration of International Women’s Day at GDC Sidhra Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra commemorated International Women’s Day with great fervour and joy. The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary followed by speech by dynamic students namely, Aadil and Muzzamil, in which they emphasised a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, and a world that’s diverse, equitable and inclusive. Dr. Purvaiya Hans, Coordinator Red Ribbon Club, in her address to the students focussed on this year’s theme ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’ and inspire ‘inclusion’ being the campaign theme for Women’s Day. The event got mesmerized with the beautiful poetry by Dr. Gurjeet Singh, Head, Department of Punjabi.Worthy Principal Dr. G S Rakwal also graced the occasion and inspired one and all with his words of wisdom. He gave an overview for the need to celebrate such events and presented his special gratitude towards female fraternity. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Programme Officer. The whole event was attended by Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Deepa Kak, Dr. Shonima Malhotra, Dr. Anu Sharma, Dr. Anshu Gupta, Dr. Rudrika Khajuria and all other faculty members.
