Extension Lecture, Yoga Demonstration Session and Beautification of Campus on Day 2nd of Winter NSS Camp As part of 7 Day NSS Winter Camp NSS Unit GDC Sidhra organized an extension lecture on the topic "Relevance of Ayurveda and Yoga" under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, The lecture was delivered by Dr. Himani Bhutyal, Medical Officer Bain Bajalta. In her lecture, Dr Himani emphasized how Wellness is a state of being healthy and how Yoga promotes wellness by bringing harmony between various dimensions of wellness namely physical, emotional (neutral), intellectual, social, environmental and spiritual health. Yoga is an art and science of healthy living. It is a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between body and mind. She encouraged students to inculcate Yoga as a daily practice in order to lead a more peaceful and healthy life. The extension lecture was followed by a Yoga Demonstration session held in collaboration with AYUSH Department Bain Bajalta. Instructors from AYUSH Department Jagandeep Singh and Ishan Mansotra taught NSS Volunteers various Yoga asanas while emphasizing on their benefit and significance. NSS Volunteers further carried out the beautification of College Campus by collecting waste material including single use plastic. The Volunteers pledged to keep the college premises Clean and to lend hand to ensure its maintenance. Principal of the college Dr B.B. Anand appreciated the volunteers for their diligent efforts.
