Intra-college Symposium Competition

A great country is not only one with good economic performance but also one that ensures the socio- economic well being of its inhabitants, respects Human Rights and protects the environment. Sustainable Development is one of the priority issues under India’s G20 Presidency. Literary Committee in collaboration with G20 Committee and NSS unit of Government Degree College Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC and G20 and the banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav organised an Intra-college Symposium Competition on 9th March 2021. The theme of the Symposium was “Why Sustainable Development?” The programme was initiated with the brief introduction of the theme given by Prof Meesha Bhagat, Convener of Literary Committee. She highlighted that Sustainable development is about finding better way of doing things, both for the future and the present. A number of students from different semesters participated in the activity. The participants were adjudged by Prof. Deepa Kak, HOD Education and Prof. Pooja Sharma, HOD Dogri .
Participants tried their best to express their views and ideas about the pertinent topic while focussing on the main goals of the Sustainable Development. They highlighted the detailed description of the necessity of Sustainable Development to protect the planet. The result of the activity was declared on the same day in which Jattin Parihar of B.A Sem Vth got first position, Ranjan Kumar of B.A Sem IIIrd secured second position and third position was bagged by Syed Muzamil of B.A sem IIIrd The programme concluded with the vote of thanks given by Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Coordinator, G20 Committee.
The programme was organised under the patronship of worthy Principal of the College Dr. B.B Anand. He congratulated the winners and the participants of the Competition. The programme was the joint effort of Literary Commitee , G20 Commmitte and NSS Unit of the College.
