Lecture On The Relevance Of Gandhian Philosophy In Modern World

In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti GDC Sidhra organized series of programmes on life of Gandhi ji and Gandhian Philosophy. The event was comprised of the lecture on “Importance of Gandhian philosophy in modern world and the Screening of the virtual tour in relation to National Gandhi Museum at Delhi. Dr Punam Rani Assistant Prof. in History delivered a detailed lecture on Importance of Gandhian philosophy in modern world. In her lecture, she emphasised on the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in modern world. She stated about the principles of Gandhian thought including values of truth, non-violence, harmony, mortality and simplicity of his life. She also highlighted that Gandhi’s policy of satyagrah and non-violence were the core ingredient in his struggle to make India a free nation .She also stressed upon inculcating his values in one’s life by giving some examples about the simplicity and truthfulness followed by Mahatma Gandhi. The lecture was followed by the screening of the virtual tour in relation to National Gandhi Museum at Delhi. The programme was ended by formal vote of Thanks given by Dr. Satbir Kour, Assistant Prof. in Punjabi. The programme was a great Success which was organised by Department of History in collaboration with literary committee and NSS under the overall supervision of Prof. Dr. Bharat Bhushan Anand, Principal of the college. It was well conducted with the active support of Prof. Meesha Bhagat, convener Literary Committee and Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, PO, NSS.
