27 Th National Youth Day Celebrated At GDC Sidhra

NSS Unit of Government Degree College Sidhra in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club organized different activities to celebrate National Youth Day 2024, with an aim to enlighten the youth through the teachings and ideology of Swami Vivekananda, under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Viksit Bharat @2047. The program was organized under the able guidance of worthy Principal, Dr. B.B Anand. This day is celebrated to honour Swami Vivekananda, as well as encourage the youth to work hard and contribute to the overall development of the country and help in the realisation of the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047- Saksham Yuva, Samarth Bharat.
The philosophy of Swami ji and the ideals for which he lived and worked is a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth. “The National Youth Festival is one of the biggest excercises in social cohesion and intellectual and social integration. It aims to bring diverse cultures of India and integrate them into a united thread of, Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”.
Activities organized included Poster making/ Slogan writing on the themes ‘Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda to recognise his contributions to the Indian Society. The other theme for poster making was HIV/AIDS. Second activity was screening of live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Speech. Third activity was a lecture on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Shonima Malhotra. In her lecture Prof. Shonima presented a detailed description of the purposeful facts of Swami Vivekenanda. Further Lohri celebration was also organised in the college premises. Staff and students participated in the activities with full enthusiasm. Principal, Dr.B.B Anand congratulated participants for their participation in the event with full enthusiasm. The event was organized by Dr. Purvaiya Hans and Prof. Deepa Kak with active support and coordination of Dr. Harpreet Kour and Prof. Shonima Malhotra.
