Awareness Campaign Titled Insta Posts

Technology is accelerating the rate at which ideas and information are shared. As such, social media is revolutionizing our access to information on both a national and global scale. Mass distribution and the ability to effortlessly share information has influenced many facets of modern life, changing the way we think about and engage with social justice and activism. Keeping in mind the ever-increasing impact of social media in raising and proliferating awareness regarding various social issues, Department of English, Govt. Degree College Sidhra organized an awareness Campaign titled “Insta Posts” under the aegis of IQAC and G20 and banner of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahostav’. G20 is critical in creating an atmosphere favorable to equitable global growth and development and Sustainable Development Goals acceleration is one of the landmark issues under India’s G20 Presidency. As such, students from different semesters of the college raised awareness regarding G20 and SDG on social media website, Instagram by posting their pictures along with G20 and SDG slogans and captions. Students tried their best to express their ideas and opinions through their pictures and captions. The activity was conducted under the patronship of Dr. B.B. Anand, worthy Principal of the college. The activity was organized by Prof. Rudrika Khajuria, HOD English. Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Convenor ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotasv’ and G20 Committee also contributed towards making the activity a success.
