Awareness Lecture On The Topic â€œ Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan , VOCAL FOR LOCALâ€

Department of Economics, Govt. Degree College,Sidhra under the patronage of worthy principal, Dr B.B Anand organized an awareness lecture on the topic “ Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan , VOCAL FOR LOCAL” on 8th of February, 2023 under the aegis of IQAC and the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” . Dr Mussarat Chowdhary sensitized students about Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan or Self-reliant India campaign which is the vision of new India envisaged by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This campaign is popularized by the PM and the Government of India in relation to economic development in the country during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The term 'Atmanirbhar' is used as an umbrella concept in relation to making India "a bigger and more important part of the global economy", pursuing policies that are efficient, competitive and resilient, and being self-sustaining and self-generating. Dr Mussarat further apprised the students about outlined five pillars of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat – Economy, Infrastructure, System, Vibrant Demography and Demand, with an aim to lower dependence on imports, to boost local production of high-value goods and in order to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property & build best in class manufacturing infrastructure. The event was organized by Dr Mussarat Chowdhary Head Department of Economics of the college with the active support of Prof Shonima Malhotra under the able guidance of worthy Principal Dr B.B Anand.
