To commemorate Dogri Manyta Diwas under Viksit Bharat 2049, Dogri Department of GDC Sidhra under the able guidance of the worthy Principal of the college, Prof. B.B. Anand, organized Dogri Recognition Day which is celebrated every year on December 22 as on this day in the year 2023 Dogri Language was recognized by the Parliament of India and included in the 8 th Schedule of Indian Constitution. Prof. Pooja Sharma, HOD Dogri, delivered an enlightening lecture on significance of Dogri Language to promote Dogra Culture and Dogri Language. In her compelling lecture she highlighted the origin and history of Dogri Language. Language is something that describes about someone’s culture and historical background. Language and Culture are intertwined. It seems that mother struggle has to be carried on for saving mother tongue. We need to put our best efforts to work for the survival of Dogri Language. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from students. They recited Dogri poems, sang a Dogri Folk song and Dogri Patriotic song, and presented a dance performance on a Dogri Folk song. Various faculty members were also present on this occasion.
