Donate Organ Donate Life

To augment awareness about organ donation and transplantation of organ ,dispel myths and misconceptions associated with it and to motivate and encourage students and faculty to donate organs and tissues after death as well as to imbibe the value of organ donation in their life, GDC Sidhra in collaboration with State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO J&K) organised an awareness programme on the theme ‘Donate organ donate life’. Ms. Anshu Sharma, Consultant (IEC/Media), SOTTO J&K enlightened the students and faculty regarding significance of donation of organs in order to give a greatest gift of life to our fellow beings. She considered the donation of organs as the greatest service to mankind. She encouraged everyone to take a pledge and come forward for organ donation. Addressing the gathering Principal B.B. Anand highlighted that organ donation is a noble act which gives an opportunity to save life after death. He also stated that it is important to recognize and appreciate the contribution of all the people associated with it. The programme was a great success which was organised by Red Ribbon Club GDC Sidhra in collaboration with NSS Unit under the overall supervision of Dr. B.B. Anand, Principal of the College. It was well conducted with the active support of Dr. Punam Rani, HOD History and Dr. Mehmood Ahmed ,P.O. NSS.
