Essay Writing Competition” Was Organized On “Hindi Diwas”

In continuation of series of activity under the ageis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav an “Essay Writing Competition” was organized on “Hindi Diwas”. On this day in 1949, the Hindi Language was adopted as one of the official languages of the Republic of India. Written in the Devanagari Script, the constitution of India accepted Hindi Language as the Official Language of India on 14 Sept, 1949. About 425 million people speak Hindi as their First Language and 120 million people speak Hindi as their Second Language. Students from different semester participated in the activity. Students were adjudged by Dr. Harpreet Kour, HOD Political Science and Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, HOD Economics. First prize was won by Ibrar Choudhary B.A. Sem-III, second prize was bagged by Mannat Gupta B.Com Sem-V and third prize was secured by Ambika Sharma B.A. Sem-III. The program was organized under the patronship of Principal of the college, Dr. B.B. Anand. The programme was successfully conducted by Dr. Satbir Kour, HOD Punjabi and Prof. Pooja Sharma, HOD Dogri.
