GDC Sidhra Celebrated Constitution Day Under “My Constitution My Pride”

Literary Committee in collaboration with NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra celebrated Constitution Day under “My Constitution My pride.”A short movie on B.R. Ambedkar was screened on 15 November, 2023 and a lecture was also organized. The purpose of the programme was to orient the students with life, struggle and achievements of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Dr. Harpreet Kour, HOD Political Science, highlighted Ambedkar’s contribution to Indian society as a renowned Indian jurist, economist and social reformer, popularly known as the Father of the Indian Constitution. This screening of a short movie provided the students an opportunity to come to know about the life of architect of Indian constitution and his pivotal role in emancipating Dalits in Indian society. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Punam Rani, HOD History delivered a lecture on “Role of B. R. Ambedkar in the framing of Indian Constitution.” She focused on biography, contribution of Ambedkar in Indian Constitution and upliftment of Dalits in Indian society. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Indu Koul. The event was successfully conducted under the able guidance of worthy Principal of the college, Dr. B.B. Anand. The programme was organized with the active support of NSS P.O. Mehmood Ahmed.
