GDC Sidhra Organised A Lecture On National Unity Day

NSS unit of the GDC Sidhra in collaboration with Department of Political Science organized a lecture on the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to celebrate National Unity Day. The programme began with the lecture delivered by Dr. Harpreet Kour, HOD of Political Science where she highlighted about the contribution of Vallabhbhai Patel in the National freedom Struggle. She stated further about his role in peaceful integration of the princely Indian states into the Indian Union and the political Unification of the country. She further spoke about the significance of this day, i.e, 31st October as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas as a tribute to the Iron man of the Country. The lecture was followed by the screening of the Documentary based on the Life and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The programme ended with the pledge taken by all the students and faculty members of the College. Principal of the College while speaking on the event encouraged the students to become a part of this Unity Day and shared his views on the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as a stalwart of Independence movement. The event became successful with the joint effort of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS PO and Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Department of Political Science with the Coordination of Dr. Anu Sharma, HOD Botany.
