GDC Sidhra Organised A Massive Cleanliness Drive To Celebrate Swachhata Pakhwada - Swachhata Hi Sewa

GDC Sidhra organised a massive cleanliness drive to celebrate Swachhata Pakhwada - Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) 2023 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his 154th birth anniversary. A pledge was organised in which staff members and NSS volunteers of GDC Sidhra, Mr. Shameer Ahmed, Sarpanch Bain Bajalta and members of Civil Society participated. They took the pledge to follow the path of truth and to work for national integration. Then a cleanliness drive was organised at Railway station Bajalta in which NSS volunteers cleaned the area thoroughly. GRP officials supported the cleanliness drive. Cleanliness drive was organised to aware the students about the principles of cleanliness and sanitation. Principal of the College, Dr. B. B Anand, interacted with the volunteers and remarked that Cleanliness and sanitation are an integral part of the Gandhian way of living. Cleanliness ensures the well being of our citizens thereby lessening the burden on healthcare systems, and contributes significantly to environmental sustainability. The event was organised by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Program Officer under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. B. B Anand. Dr. Harpreet Kour, Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Dr. Anu Sharma, Dr. Princy and Dr. Indu Koul and others were present during the event.
