To enlighten, enable and empower every citizen to register as a voter and cast his/her vote at every election in an informed and ethical manner, GDC Sidhra under “Mera Vote Desh Ke Liye” campaign organized a “Pledge To Vote” under SVEEP wherein many students of the college undertook the pledge to cast their vote sans any inducement. Worthy principal of the college Dr. G.S.Rakwal also address the students regarding the initiative which aims at enhancing among citizenry the sense of citizenship, empowerment and Pride in electoral participation as also to inspire them especially the young voters for ethical exercise of newly acquired franchise. This Period of seven decades and a half has been a witness to the emergence, evolution and progress of a robust, vibrant and inclusive participative electoral democracy in India. The programme was organized under the able guidance of worthy Principal Dr. Gurdev Singh Rakwal. An active role was played by Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary Coordinator, Dr. Harpreet Kour, HOD Political Science, Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, PO NSS, and Prof. Rudrika Khajuria, HOD English.
