NSS WINTER CAMP INAUGRATED AT GDC SIDHRA

NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra inaugurated a 7-Day Winter Camp for NSS Volunteers under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.  The foremost objective of the camp is to inculcate social values among the youth in general and NSS Volunteers in particular in order to create a healthy society. 

The camp was inaugurated by Special Secretary Higher Education Department J&K, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Badyal (JKAS). In his address, Mr. Badyal apprised the students about the plethora of different digital initiatives introduced by Higher Education Department J&K for the benefit of staff and students like ABC, three-tier feedback system, digi locker, and digitalization of APRs, etc.

The occasion was also graced by Mr. Ashwani Hansa, Under Secretary, Higher Education Department J&K, Mr. Kumar Sourav, Nodal Officer Project Coordinator Digital Initiative Higher Education Department Samarth and Dr. Himani Bhutyal, Medical Officer Bain Bajalta.

Principal of the college, Dr. B. B. Anand, in his address speech applauded the NSS Unit of the college for their untiring efforts in organizing the camp. He encouraged the students to adopt the idea of service as our way of life to render this world a better place to live. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS PO of the college, elucidated that the purpose of organizing the NSS Winter Camp is to motivate and prepare the students for community service and nation building. He also briefed the volunteers about the various activities and events to be organized during the week long camp. NSS Volunteers of the college enlivened the event with their scintillating cultural performances.

The proceedings of the event were carried forward by Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, HOD Economics and the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Rudrika Khajuria, HOD English. Among others present were Prof. Shonima Malhotra, HOD Sociology, Dr Mahak, PTI and Ms. Ruchika, Librarian. The program was organized under the patronship of Dr. B. B. Anand, Principal GDC Sidhra.
