Plantation Drive

In continuation with the Independence Day Celebrations, on Day two of Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign, NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mohotsav, conducted a Plantation Drive. The aim of the activity was to promote the values of cleanliness, discipline and respect for environment amongst the students. Dignitaries invited for the event included Chairman Nagrota, Sarpanch Bajalta, Sarpanch Pargalta and Sarpanch Aitham. Around 50 NSS Volunteers from different semesters of the college and several parents of students actively participated in the event and contributed in planting the varied saplings. Principal of the college, Dr B. B. Anand motivated the students to plant more and more trees to conserve nature. Around 75 indigenous saplings were planted both in the makeshift college premises as well as the official college allocated land which contributed towards the creation of Amrit Vatika. The program was conducted under the patronship of Dr B. B. Anand, Principal GDC Sidhra. The event was organized successfully with the active support and coordination of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, PO NSS Unit, Prof Deepa Kak, Dr Satbir Kour, Dr Anu Sharma and Prof Rudrika Khajuria.
