Pledge Taking Ceremony To Commence The Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign

During the 103rd edition of Mann Ki Baat on 30 July 2023, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi cited a unique idea to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. He announced the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign during the Amrit Mahotsav celebration. This campaign from August 9 to August 15 will honour and appreciate the martyred bravehearts. According to the campaign website, “The nationwide campaign will celebrate the achievements of the nation and Bravehearts.” This campaign will promote ‘Jan Bhagidari’ by conducting different programs and events at village, Panchayat, Block, Urban Local Body, State and National levels.NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mohotsav organized a Pledge taking ceremony to commence the Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign. NSS Volunteers, students, worthy Principal and staff of the college undertook the Panch Pran Pledge promising to abide by the five principles foregrounded to make India a developed country by the time it celebrates it’s 100thIndependence day. The program was conducted under the patronship of Dr B. B. Anand, Principal GDC Sidhra. The event was organized successfully with the active support and coordination of Dr.Mehmood Ahmed, PO NSS Unit, Prof Deepa Kak, Dr Satbir Kour, Dr. Anu Sharma and Prof Rudrika Khajuria.
