Red Ribbon Club In Collaboration With NSS Unit,GDC Sidhra Commemorated World Aids Day

In a concerted effort to promote awareness amongst the youth of India, Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with NSS Unit,GDC Sidhra came together to organise a Rangoli making competition along with an extension lecture on the said topic. A large number of students participated in the event and expressed their thoughtsthrough Rangoli on HIV AIDS, a global health concern.World AIDS Day 2023, under the theme, “Let communities lead”, is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made to date, to raise awareness about the challenges that remain to achieve the goals of ending AIDS by 2030 and to mobilize all stakeholders to jointly redouble efforts to ensure the success of the HIV response.
The event was formally welcomed by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Programme Officer Head Department of Urdu. Rangoli competition was followed by an extension lecture by Dr. Sarika, Medical Officer, Health Centre Bain Bajalta. She focussed on battling this global pandemic of HIV AIDS beyond the symbolic red ribbons and reflecting the progress made in the fight against it. After her lecture she distributed supplements among the students to boost their immunity.
The whole event was judged by Dr. Sarika and Ms Shahnaz Bano, Incharge Govt. Lower High School, Bain Bajalta. The first, second and third positions were bagged by Kiran Pradhan, Priya Devi and Heena Chib.In his inspiring address, Prof. (Dr.) B.B. Anand, esteemed Principal of College motivated the students to stand united to justify the theme of 2023 “Let communities lead”.
The whole function was attended by all the faculty members. This event was organised by Dr. Satbir Kour, Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Club Head Department of Punjabi with active support of Dr. Harpreet Kour, Dr. Purvaiya Hans, Prof. Pooja Sharma, Dr. Indu Koul and Dr. Princy Sharma.
