Energy efficiency, including energy conservation is a long term priority for G20 as it constitutes the optimum utilization of energy resources. The increased collaboration on energy efficiency can drive economic activity and productivity, strengthen energy security and improve environmental outcomes. As part of an awareness drive, Department of Economics GDC Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC and G20 and the banner of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav showcased a documentary on 'Energy Conservation' to the students of the college. The objective of this activity was to generate mass awareness and consciousness about the importance of energy efficiency and preservation. Through this documentary extremely useful information was shared with the students regarding how to minimise energy waste and play their part in conserving the resources. It further reflected on the essentiality of conforming to one of the main objectives of the present day i.e. wise and sensible use of energy rather than indiscriminately misusing it and the practical implementation of strategies and policies to reduce excessive consumption of energy. The programme was organized under the patronship of Dr. B.B. Anand, worthy Principal of the college. The programme was organized with the joint efforts of Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Head, Department of Economics, Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Coordinator, G20 Committee, Prof. Rudrika Khajuria, member G20 Committee and Prof. Taniya Baloria.
