Swachhta Pledge Organized By NSS Unit GDC Sidhra

"Swachhata Hi Seva" is a campaign initiated by the Government of India to promote the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in the country. The campaign aims to mobilize communities and individuals to actively participate in cleanliness and sanitation activities. Cleanliness held great significance in Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy and his vision for a better society. He firmly believed that cleanliness was not merely a physical act but a moral and spiritual one as well.To commence "Swachhta Hi Sewa" (SHS) Campaign and as part of ongoing series of activities being organized to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti,the NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Sidhra today organized a Pledge Taking Ceremony under the aegis of IQAC.NSS Volunteers from different semesters of the college along with the College faculty undertook "Swachhta Pledge" reinforcing their resolve to keep their nation Clean. Gandhi viewed cleanliness (Swachhata) as a moral imperative for individuals and society as a whole. He believed that a clean and hygienic environment was essential for the well-being of individuals and the nation. Volunteers of the college pledged to devote 100 hours per year to voluntarily work for the cause of cleanliness. The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. B. B. Anand, Principal of the college. The program was conducted successfully with the active support and coordination of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS PO, Prof. Deepa Kak, Prof Shonima Malhotra, Dr Anu Sharma and Dr. Rudrika Khajuria.
