Wetland Cleanliness Drive

Wetlands play an important role in maintaining many natural cycles and supporting a wide range of biodiversity. Under India’s G-20 Presidency, the concept of ‘Green Growth’ is a priority area.
When the world is tackling the issues pertaining to climate action, environmental protection and sustainable development GDC Sidhra, under the aegis of G20, IQAC and the banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav organized Wetland Cleanliness Drive as a contributing step towards conservation of environment in general and restoration of wetlands in particular.
The activity was organized by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Anshu Gupta, Convenor Eco-club and Prof. Pooja Sharma, HOD Dogri of the college. The location identified for the cleanliness drive was the Bain Bajalta Pond and its surrounding area. Students from different semesters of the college participated in cleanliness drive with great zeal and enthusiasm. Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Convenor G20 Committee also contributed towards the programme. The programme was successfully conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal of the College, Dr. B.B. Anand.
