GDC Sidhra organised an awareness workshop on "Domestic violence" GDC Sidhra organised an awareness workshop on the topic "Domestic Violence : Rights, Responsibilities and remedies" to celebrate Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Resource person for the workshop was Advocate Kiran Thakur, an eminent spokesperson for human right violation. The program began with welcome address by Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Convenor of Literary Committee. After that the resource person gave a comprehensive lecture to educate the students about the meaning and concept of domestic violence, and different forms of domestic violence like physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse. She further highlighted about the intricacies of the domestic violence act. She also shared real life examples with the students to enrich them with new insights. She at last made the students aware about career opportunities available at One stop centre etc. set up for assistance of women in various states. Principal of the College while speaking on the event appreciated the resource person and also shared his views on the topic with students. Program ended with vote of thanks. The event was organised by Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Dr. Anu Sharma and Dr. Rudrika Khajuria, members of Literary Committee of the College under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. B. B Anand.
