From the Principal's Desk

Government Degree College, Sidhra, was established in 2019 with a profound commitment to nurturing a spirit of inquiry, a pursuit of academic excellence and a deep sense of humanism among our learners. Rooted in the core values of peace, equity, accessibility and justice, our institution has steadily built a reputation for educational distinction. Our highly qualified and dedicated faculty is deeply invested in fostering a vibrant ecosystem of experimentation, innovation, research and continuous progress. The college is currently operating from its temporary campus at GLMS Bain Bajalta.

It is with great excitement and pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to all the young minds and aspiring scholars joining us, especially as we step into the academic session of 2026–27.

GDC Sidhra constantly strives to provide high-quality education across the streams of Social & Behavioral Sciences, Arts & Humanities, and Commerce. To further expand our academic horizons, we also propose to introduce the Science Stream in the near future.

We are fully committed to equipping our students with modern infrastructure, including ICT-enabled smart classrooms, a dedicated browsing center and a secure environment under comprehensive CCTV surveillance. Recognizing the need to guide and support our students in today’s highly competitive world, the college has adopted a holistic, interactive Mentor-Mentee system. This initiative connects teachers, students and parents one-on-one to ensure our learners remain mentally resilient, motivated and healthy.

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), our institution places a strong mandate on innovation, internships, research and skill-based education. We achieve this through blended learning programs and continuous capacity-building initiatives for both our staff and students.

It is my sincere wish that our students, parents and faculty members walk hand-in-hand with mutual goodwill and a shared vision. Together, we will bring this institution toward new heights of excellence for the ultimate betterment of society.
